Old Paparoa Post Office

This is the old Paparoa Post Office in Paparoa. It was originally built in 1903 but in recent years is now a bed & breakfast with lovely gardens.

Matakohe Old Settlers Church

This is the original settler's church in Matakohe next to the Kauri Museum - you can go inside near the foyer but the rest of it such as the pews and pulpit are protected because of their age.

Northland Lifestyle field days - Horse demonstrations

This is Mr Franz Jensen demonstration how to shoe a horse at the recent Northland Lifestyle Field Days held in November 2009. Lots of people were standing around watching.

Waipu Highland Games 2010 - Jumpy Slide

Another from the Waipu Highland Games a few weeks ago. For the kids there's plenty of entertainment including this massive blown up jumpy slide - you can see my daughter halfway down and my son about to jump at the top.

A very nosey sheep!

On one of my nightly walks with our dog I snapped this as I walked past a fence - it's a very nosey sheep watching us through the flax leaves.
